International scientometric bases are developing extremely dynamically, improving the level of services rendered. This is illustrated by the launch of the Web of Science My Research Assistant in October 2021 by Clarivate. It can quickly search among publications of international scientometric databases, analyse articles and journals, monitor them, and save the necessary ones.
Such a development can make scientific research more convenient and easier. Scientific Publications shares a review of a new mobile application.
How to download the app?
Web of Science My Research Assistant is available on Android and IOS platforms. It can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play. After downloading, you must authorise. This is possible in two ways: create a new account profile, or use an existing one. The second option is offered to those registered in the database of other Clarivate products, including Web of Science, Master Journal List, EndNote, Publons, etc.
What features does Web of Science My Research Assistant have?
Web of Science My Research Assistant allows finding the necessary articles in the Web of Science scientometric database, save scientific papers and journals to a “list of preferences”, get back to them if necessary, and share your favourite studies on social media. There are two sets of features: free and subscription.
The free version includes:
◉ Performing a search from a topic.
◉ Implementation of search queries, no more than 50 characters.
◉ Search for articles from the last 5 years.
◉ Number of results — no more than 25 recent entries.
◉ Performing searches in the main collection of the Web of Science.
◉ Ability to save up to 3 search channels.
With a subscription:
◉ There is no limit on the number of characters in a search query.
◉ It is possible to save an unlimited number of search channels.
◉ In addition to searching by topic, one can search by author, title of publication, keywords, institution based on which the research was conducted, grant number.
Search channels are thematic areas that meet your scientific interests. The information in them is updated every time you access the application, showing the latest research on a certain subject.
Is it possible to read open-access articles?
It depends on the type of journal. When performing a search, the DOI of each article is highlighted, by clicking on it, one can determine in what format the scientific article is provided. If the journal where the article is published is in the public domain, the publications can be found directly in the appendix.
Web of Science My Research Assistant is an assistant application for your scientific research. It provides an opportunity to view thousands of scientific publications of the Web of Science global scientometric database directly on your smartphone.
